The most widely recognised advanced driving course is provided by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).
The IAM is a registered charity dedicated to raising driving and riding standards and reducing the number of collisions that occur on our roads.
If you are interested in taking an advanced test get in touch with your local IAM Group who can help you to prepare for the test, providing you with the guidance you need in the period leading up to your test.
The advanced test itself lasts for about 90 minutes and will usually cover between 30 and 40 miles along many types of road including, town driving, motorways or dual carriageways and country lanes.
Once you have passed your advanced driving test you will, in many cases, be able to benefit from cheaper car insurance premiums with 9 out of 10 advanced drivers reporting that their insurance premiums drop once they pass their advanced test.
