Talking or passing things to passengers whilst driving

Passengers can be a huge distraction to drivers, especially when you’ve got a car full of kids all fighting for attention.

 

Make sure that when driving, you are in control of the vehicle and your passengers know not to distract you.

 

If you have children in the car then make sure you feed them before you set off, they’re buckled in properly and they have any toys that will keep them quiet during the journey. If the children cause a distraction then pull over where it is safe to do so – don’t try to handle children while you’re driving.

 

If necessary tell your passengers to be quiet – it’s you who will be responsible if you crash.
