Route Information
The majority of motorcycle crashes that occur on North Yorkshire roads could be avoided. They are not accidents, nor are they due to dark nights and poor weather conditions; they are usually due to rider error.
The majority of motorcycle crashes in North Yorkshire occur on straights, followed by left or right bends. Frequent contributing factors are loss of control closely followed by failure to look properly and failure to judge another person’s path or speed. These are followed by poor turns or manoeuvres and the rider being careless, reckless or in a hurry.
