Speeding

As a young passenger it’s easy to feel pressurised into situations. You might find yourself in a car with a group of mates who all think it’s clever to break the speed limit, tearing along with their music blaring and not a care in the world.

 

It isn’t clever and it isn’t cool. It’s actually really stupid and risky.

 

If you’re in the car with a speeding driver, ask them to slow down and if they don’t, tell them you want to get out of the car. If a driver is involved in a crash it is their natural instinct to protect themselves. This means if you are a passenger, you will get the brunt of the impact and the brunt of the injuries, if you aren’t killed instantly.

 

I’m sure your parents would rather go out of their way to pick you up than attend your funeral!
