Dealing with an incident

  • Remember that your own safety is paramount – you will be no use to relay information to the emergency services if you become a casualty yourself.
  • Get help immediately by calling 999 – give the exact location, a description of what is involved and the number and condition of casualties.
  • Don’t move anyone unless they are in immediate danger and need to be moved prior to the emergency services arriving.
  • Never remove the rider’s helmet unless they have stopped breathing.
