North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a collision on A661 Harrogate Road near Spofforth.

It happened at around 4.45pm Sunday 30 December 2018 and involved a black BMW 3 series heading in the Harrogate direction, driven by a 23 year old man from the Wetherby area .

This vehicle left the road coming to rest in a ditch. The driver was taken by ambulance to Leeds General Hospital and discharged following treatment.

Police are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, and in particular, are appealing for information about a grey Volkswagen van seen traveling in the same direction as the BMW at the time.

We are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who recalls seeing the BMW or any other vehicle prior to the collision, to get in touch as soon as possible.
