The Chief Association of Fire Officers Association (CFOA) launched national road safety week in Parliament Street, York, on Monday. With the focus on cyclists, Lafarge were on hand to demonstrate just how difficult it can be for a lorry driver to see a cyclist. The full list of events is below:

Monday 9th June

  • Road Safety Event York Parliament Square 0900-1300
  • Whitby RTC demo in the town centre 1000-1600
  • Cycling/Pedestrian safety event Grassington market place 1000-1600
  • Drink Drive and summer vehicle checks – Ian Browns Tyres Malton 16:30-2000

Tuesday 10th June

  • Walking school bus (Ruswarp lane to Ruswarp School) 0800-1000
  • RTC Demo/Rye car Malton School 0900-1400
  • ANPR and drink drive checks North Grimston 1300-1700

Wednesday 11th June

  • Northallerton RTC and road safety –town square
  • Craven RSG Skipton 0900-1000

  • RTC demo for HM forces Richmondshire Lines 1900-2100

Thursday 12th June

  • Seatbelt survey Pickering Lidl 0830-1030
